Based on an amendment to the Health Insurance Act that entered into force at the beginning of 2025, the confirmed reasonable wholesale prices of reimbursable medicinal products authorised in 2010 and thereafter will be reduced by 1.5 per cent on 1 March 2025. The reduction in wholesale prices does not apply to certain biological and parallel imported medicinal products defined in the Act, nor to medicinal products and their maximum wholesale prices in the reference price system.
Before price reduction the marketing authorisation holders were provided with an opportunity to withdraw medicinal products from the reimbursement system exceptionally also as of 1 March 2025. In this procedure, a total of eight packages were withdrawn. The reimbursement system still includes other medicinal products containing the same medicinal substances.
